About This Service

What is Registered Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a regulated healthcare profession focused on restoring movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness, or disability. Our Registered Physiotherapists are licensed with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) and bring advanced clinical training to every patient.

At Locus Health Centre, physiotherapy goes beyond passive treatments. We combine hands-on manual therapy with active exercise rehabilitation, education, and injury prevention strategies to deliver lasting results. Our modern clinic is equipped with the latest rehabilitation equipment to support your recovery.

We are proud to now offer physiotherapy appointments on Sundays, making it easier than ever to fit your care into a busy schedule. Direct billing is available through most extended health benefit plans.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral for physiotherapy?

No referral is required to see a physiotherapist in BC. However, ICBC claims may require specific documentation. Our team can guide you through the process.

Is physiotherapy covered by MSP?

Physiotherapy is not covered by BC MSP for most adults. However, it is covered by most extended health benefit plans. We offer direct billing to make access easy.

What happens during a first physiotherapy visit?

Your first visit includes a comprehensive assessment of your condition, medical history, and goals. Your physiotherapist will then develop a personalized treatment plan and begin treatment in the same session.

How long does physiotherapy take?

Recovery timelines vary by condition. Acute injuries may resolve in 4–8 weeks, while complex post-surgical rehab can take several months. Your physiotherapist will give you a realistic timeline at your first visit.

Can I do physiotherapy if I'm in a lot of pain?

Yes. Physiotherapy is designed to work with your current pain levels. Your therapist will modify treatments to be comfortable while still being effective, and will progress your program as you improve.
